Social will only continue to be immersed in people’s daily lives more than ever, or even more than people realize. But how do social platforms impact this fast-changing business world? They are the BRIGHT future! From the marketing side, social speeds up the competition, in order to stay competitive, everyone needs to take advantage of what social provides, not only just some performance reports for marketing but also the voice of the consumer. Consumers are the most significant role in this game, I mean, we tailor our marketing strategy based on consumer behavior. So, businesses noticed that customers show how they feel, like, or dislike, provide insight into what they expect from brands, and tell how they engage with social content on social media, for example.

Here are three key takeaways from my E-commerce class at NYU for standing out from the crowd on social.

Listen to the Voice of Customer (VoC) — you are either doing social listening or collecting reviews, feedback, Voc helps businesses focus on understanding their customers on a personal level. It is a crucial component in customer satisfaction strategy since social data informs marketers how customers like/dislike their brand, how they use their products or services, when you are improving your problems and strengthening your features, your business will highlight customer experience. The article on the value of VoC notes that conducting a VoC program can greater customer retention rates by 55%.

Connect with your Right Audience on the Right channels — marketing is not a one-size-fits-all place. The performance-driven strategy depends on many factors like target audience, conceptualized concepts, and the right media mix. Having the right media channels to market your brand, engage with the right consumers with a seamless and consistent message is of the essence. Plus, TikTok, a video-sharing platform, for example, gains popularity and becomes the most downloaded app in the USA because of the visual content they offer, and is easier to create trends, such as dance challenges for popular songs. Therefore, if you want to leave impressing memories to your audience, video is a very nice choice.
